Singapore Gearing Up for F1 event.

Wah! It has been so long this blog has not been updated.

Ok here is the update on Singapore. Come this Friday, 26 September 2008, Singapore will be the host for the First ever Formula One (F1) nite race. Its a very big event for the year. Thanks to the sponsor like Singtel and others big corporates that make the reality of having our very own F1 to race here.

The racers like Hamilton had reached Singapore earlier. Since 23 September, the road for the event had been blocked so that the security and wellbeing of the racers is taken care. The closure earlier is for the racer to get fimiliarised with the track layout for them to practice. The event venue will be in the city. Its is very interesting to know that this is the first time that Formula One will be held at night.

Singaporean and F1 fans had been waiting excitedly for this event, the first ever night race. What more this race is being held in the heart of the city in the major road.

All had been set, waiting only for the real things to start...VVvrroooooooooommmmmm.

Gearing Up for Nation Birthday

My Singapore is ready to celebrate its nation 43rd birthday. A lot of building had adorned the national flag at their premises. Housing estates were decorated with flags. Flat owner had hung the Singapore flag too. Wah so patriotic my fellow Singaporean.

Some private car owners also puts a small flag on the front glass panel of their car. Taxis had sticker and also flag hanging on their car panel.

At the venue for the National Day Parade, Marina Bay Waterfront, it was well decorated with props for the parade itself. National television had been telecasted the parade rehearsal to remind Singaporean of the Live Telecast of the Parade on National Day itself. Shopping centres had been playing some of the songs that normally being sung during the Parade beside our National Anthem - Majulah Singapura.

I'm proud for being a Singaporean and thank God for letting me to be born here in Singapore.

One People, One Nation, One Singapore.

Races Group in Singapore

Hi There!

Singapore has multi races of people living here. Majority are Chinese. Follows by Malay, Indian and some Eurasian. With Singapore accepting more and more foreigner to be a Permanent resident, it is very common nowadays to find Filipinos, Indian of India origin or Chinese from China origin as part of the community.

With the diversitiy of the races, Singapore culture had been a unique one that all these races can be living in this little beautiful island as a one nation peacefully. Beside culture, each and everyone of the ethnic group had their own festivities and dishes that they particularly proud off.

The Singapore's Chinese will celebrate Chinese New Year which follows the Lunar Calendar. The Singapore's Malays have Hari Raya Aidilfitri or Hari Raya Puasa to celebrate after a month of successful Ramadan (or fasting month). The Singapore's Indian will celebrate their festival of Light or Deepavali. The Singapore's Eurasian of course will then celebrate the joy of Christmas together with the world. All this major days for the four major ethnic group in Singapore are declared as public holidays in Singapore. This is because each races can then celebrate with their neighbours and friends on those special day. Thus, this will lead to better understanding of other races and living harmoniously in our beautiful island of Singapore.

Oh! by the way, there are other public holiday in Singapore too that some part of the world celebrate like Good Friday, Vesak Day, Hari Raya Haji and Labour Day.
